Assessment Services
A comprehensive evaluation includes an intake with the client and/or caregiver, behavioral observations, and testing of cognition, neuropsychological processes, and socio-emotional functioning. Information from parents and teachers is also included when appropriate. Combined, this information yields an integrative report with diagnostic conclusions, recommendations, and referrals. All assessment batteries are tailored to the individual patient’s needs.
Pediatric Evaluation
Children are brought for neuropsychological evaluations:

when they are struggling at school,
-
cannot communicate as well as their peers,
-
have social-emotional issues,
-
their behavior is disruptive
-
to establish their cognitive profile following significant medical history (e.g., cancer, seizures, head injury, etc.).

to gain entrance to private schools, gifted, or special education programs
Adult Evaluation
Adults may seek a neuropsychological assessment to:

Clarify effects of neurological and medical disorders on their cognitive functioning

Problems with memory, attention, and concentration

Decrease in self-care and other activities of daily living
-
Receive accommodations for college and graduate school entrance exams. (It is important to keep in mind that there is no guarantee that accommodations will be granted.)
