Frequently Asked Questions

I think I may need a psychologist. How do I get started?

Call or email. Dr. Zaytsev offers a free 10-minute phone consultation to help you figure out the type of service you may need. After that, you set up an appointment time. During the first appointment, the history of the presenting problem and other relevant information is gathered and the assessment/treatment plan is designed. If you are calling about your child, the first session is just for you (the parent). During that first session, you and Dr. Zaytsev will be figuring out what it would be like to work together.
It is highly recommended that you complete the New Patient Forms prior to your appointment.
Do you prescribe medications?

As a clinical psychologist, Dr. Zaytsev does not have prescription rights. However, if the results of her evaluation suggest that pharmacological intervention is indicated, she would provide you with a referral to the physician who would manage your medication needs.
Will my insurance cover your services?

Dr. Zaytsev is an in-network provider for Medicare. This means that she works directly with this insurance carrier.

If you do not have this insurance plan, Dr. Zaytsev can work with you as an out-of-network provider.  Your services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance. Please check with your insurance company carefully to determine if your plan covers an out-of-network provider and what is their reimbursement policy for psychological and neuropsychological testing and/or psychotherapy.  When calling your insurance carrier, mention the following codes to be used for a psychological evaluation: 90791; neuropsychological evaluation: 96132, 96133, 96136, and 96137; psychotherapy: 90834 and 90837.

All fees are payable to this office at the time of rendered service. At the end of the evaluation or once a month for treatment cases, Dr. Zaytsev will give you a "super-bill" to submit to your insurance company. You are responsible for all billing and collection of reimbursements from your insurance company.
What are your fees? Do you have a sliding scale?

The standard therapy fee for a 50-minute session is $250.  Giftedness evaluations are a $650 flat fee. All other clinical assessments are priced at $350 per hour. Forensic evaluation fees are available upon request. In certain circumstances, a reduced fee may be offered. The eligibility is decided on a case-by-case basis.
Can services be provided in any other languages?

Yes, Dr. Zaytsev is fluent in Russian and can provide treatment as well as most portions of assessment in the Russian language.
